Who is Starface?
Starface, known for their bold marketing and style was established in 2019 and became an over night hit. Starface launched with their bold star shaped hydro-stars and quickly grew their presence thanks to social media. They transcended skincare and became a form of self expression and identity.

Aluminum Outer Housing

Aluminum is one of the more sustainable materials due to its recyclability. It can be melted down and recasted an infinite amount of times buts its still strong and durable. Recycling it also takes 95% less energy than producing new aluminum. Powder Coated Aluminum also does not hinder the recycling process as ges burned off when it is melted.
Alginate Acne Patch Backing
Alginate is still a more experimental material when used like this but it has great results in other fields. Alginate is made up of seaweed and can be made into a film where is is flexible and is good in humidity. It is good for adhesive backing and it is 100% biodegradable. It is biodegradable in many different situations like soil, landfills, and marine environments. A major plus is that it does not leave behind any micro plastics.

PCR Refill Pods
post consumer recycled plastic.jpeg
Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic, or PCR is a great option for skincare refill pods. Many eco-friendly materials are not safe enough to hold skincare formulas and they are not airtight, so going with a sustainable mono-material plastic is the best option. When the pods are made with a single material they are easily recyclable because they do not need to be separated, making it easier for the user as well.
Folding Board Outer Cartons
Folding Board is a paper board, which means it is made primarily from wood pulp. It is easily recyclable and the fibers are recoverable and then reusable. Production of folding board also uses less energy in the production phase. And although is is very recyclable it is still very durable and stiff enough to keep products safe within the structure.

Vegetable Based Gold Ink Logo Application
Screen Shot 2026-09-16 at 12.17_edited.jpg
Traditionally printing with a glossy finish is not very sustainable because it is done with a layer of foil, but there is a way to do and still be eco-friendly. Using soy or vegetable based ink that are gold on 100% paperboard is perfectly sustainable. There is no plastic layer, and this paper can straight to recycling. Vegetable inks also lead to less toxic chemicals in emissions as well.
